License key/Code/coupon System

Oncely’s system is ready to deliver your unique randomized license keys/codes/coupons to the deal buyers. The workflow would be similar to this:

You give us the licenses which are unique per user purchase and tier > We load them into our system > the user buys via our website and checkout > the buyer gets their unique license key from the purchase > the user goes to your website and redeems the license.

Below is the regular procedure for this:

1. License keys/codes/coupons generation

As a Partner (product owner), you generate the license keys/codes/coupons. These must be unique (one single activation per code) and randomized.

2. License keys/codes/coupons backend activation and display

License keys/codes/coupon activation in the backend system of your product: This allows users to access your site and redeem the license keys/codes/coupons and receive the specific plan/features/limits same as promoted in the deal.

<aside> ⚠️ To ensure clarity and uphold transparency, users should be able to view their mapped plans in the customer area or dashboard, where customer plans are typically displayed. e.g. “Oncely PRO Lifetime” or “Oncely PRO Lifetime 3 codes” (for accounts with stacking if required).

<aside> ⚠️ Generating an evergreen system that doesn’t conflict with different promotions and deal price increases is essential (paying more for something less expensive in the past leaves a bad taste in customers). Therefore, it is necessary to refrain from displaying the price the customer paid for our lifetime deal and only show the plan name.

3. Testing License keys/codes/coupons

Testing the license keys/codes activation:

  1. Be sure that the license keys/codes/coupons are correctly activated by giving the right access to the correct plan/features designed for the deal.
  2. If existing stacking code: Need to be sure that stacking additional codes increases the plan/features/limits the way they are designed in the Oncely deal.
  3. Once everything is working fine, remove the already activated codes during the test (those are not going to be sold), to avoid them messing with the rest.

4. Code redemption system/page for the Oncely users

Preparing the code redemption system/page for the Oncely users: There’s no unique way of doing this. The redemption system can be done in the backend after the regular registration, but users (Oncely’s deal buyers) get a better impression when the Partner generates a simple, but customized registration page for them (hosted on a custom URL similar to https://YOURDOMAIN/signup/Oncely.)

The custom webpage could be something as simple as a clone of the regular sign-up page (containing the usual registration form with a field for the Oncely codes), but adding our logo/name and a custom message identifying the audience that lands there. Be as creative as you want to give the best possible first impression!
